What, you want another theory?
Ok here's 5:
1) Why else would Kevin O'Neill have come to Tucson? You didn't really believe he was going be content as an assistant, did you? The good news is they can start calling O'Neill the familiar "Coach O."
2) Because he was scared of Kansas. Would you want to coach a team that hasn't figured out who is running point and how to keep the big men on the floor?
3) He was helping Mike Stoops. After a dodging a bullet in Seattle and dropping one vs Stanford, Stoops needed a diversion.
4) Because he gets paid still.
5) Who cares, let's concern ourselves with what happens when he returns to the sidelines for games.
